Re-using laser cartridge components
saves energy
RIT has completed a report that shows substantial amounts of energy
can be saved by reusing cartridge components.Based on this study, by saving
&
re-using these parts for every20 cartridges the amount of the
energy that
could
be saved is equal to heating up a North American
household for one day.In other
words GIS at its full annual capacity
potentially will save 48,000
days of energy that requires to heat up one
house hold.
Remanufacturing toner Cartridge
reduces green house gas foot print
- Manufacturing brand new plastic parts for a laser toner cartridge requires consuming
approximately one gallon of oil.
- Therefore, reusing the empty cartridge will save consuming
one gallon of oil that requires to produce the plastic parts of one brand new cartridge.
- GIS at its full capacity can annually save consuming close
to one million gallons of oil.
